Eli Lockwood ELKINS 1909
« on: Friday 08 March 13 11:38 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor Eli Lockwood ELKINS was born 1909 in Selkirk

I have a photograph of him with his parents taken about 1914 at Selkirk. His father Jeremiah James Elkins was killed in1917.  From 1914 until 1937 when Eli appeared at Binfield Berkshire England I have no knowledge of his life or how his mother Mary Elkins fared.  Eli died at Binfield in 1982.
An English workmate said Eli ( Jock) spoke wih a Scottish accent so Eli seems to have been brought up in Scotland.
Any information or places to look would be much appreciated.

Mary Elkins appears on the 1920 Valuation Rolls living at 16 Ettrick Road, Selkirk.  Her occupation is given as millworker.  She is not on the 1925 valuation role in Selkirk.
