Does anyone have any Scowcroft ancestors from Lancashire?

This is a fairly rare name and originates from Lancashire. It is Anglo-Norse and was originally Schoolcraft. It is derived from the Norse skali and the Old English croft, meaning small croft near an hill, or something similar.

hi are you still researching the schowcorfts of lancashire ? please get in touch - rare the name is NOT - as i have found its so common round here - im trying to get to grips with the latter end of the tree
