Looking more closely- she is called Margt Murry.

It looks to be very complicated!
The marriage certificate of Catherine Lyons and Robert H may shed some light on the matter.
Good luck
Heywood  :)

Research suggests  that Catherine Lyon was the stepdaughter of John Murray and the natural daughter of another West Indian sailor Charles Frederick who still lived local to the Murray family on the 1881c. This fact came to light on the discovery of Catherine's bigamous marriage to Thomas King in 1914 when she  claimed to be a widow but in fact she and Robert were separated.
This whole period of this family's life is a paper trail of false names and ages....whether from a natural distrust of form filling and authority, something else to hide, or just cussedness.
The Colebourn Murray and Lyon families are closely interwoven. Even Charles Frederick's wife Anne acted as Godmother  to one of the other children.
Though all this info is 'out there' to be found, I'm loathe to post it on Rootschat till it looks a little clearer. After all the help I've had from Rootschatters I don't want to upset anyone's apple cart.
Many Thanks for your interest.  Help and advice is always appreciated and I will respond to the general forum when I've had a "good think".

This may not be of any help, but might be worth a look.
Have a look at the website "The Colls of Castlerea and Beyond", scroll down to section 2a, and you will find an Alfred Colebourne who married a Margaret Hiesley [Hisley, Isley, etc], Liverpool, 1858, 8 children.
Anybody who can add or edit anything on this site, please do so.

Hi

I'm a Colebourne descendant, my great great grandfather Charles was Alfred's younger brother.  I will take a look at that site.  Thank you  :)

Quido's family aren't connected to mine as far as I know..but they are monstrous to find as they certainly liked different spellings  ;D
