Hambleton

I would love to hear from anyone who has in depth genealogical knowledge of the ordinary people of the villages that formerly comprised Hambleton in the 18th century and beyond. I am trying to find out more about the Vines families that lived there in the 17th and 18th centuries because they may be ancestors of mine. I have lots of names but not a lot more although I believe that the fathers may have served as Parish Clerk in successive generations.

Hi,

I am not sure if this will be of any help to you but there were quite a few of the Vines family listed in Hambleton in the pariah records including a John Vines who was the parish clerk he was buried on 16 Oct 1764....and also another John Vines who was buried on 16 Sep 1781 he was also listed as a clerk of the parish.

Hi Jadzia

Thank you for your reply. If you can let me know what you can find I'd very grateful. I've no direct access to those records although some have been given to me in the past. But they may have been updated since.

Thank you

Tony
