I've just read all your research into Robert Cairns Bowman and Isabella Gordon. Robert Bowman was my 3rd cousin 3x removed on my paternal grandmother's side. It made most interesting reading. Thanks for all your hard work

Very late to this thread but just discovered it when I was trying to find information on my gggrandfather William Chalmers. A while ago I asked Norrie if he had a photograph of the grave of William and his wife from his Kirkcaldy Cemetry records and he duly supplied said photograph. I find it amazing that around 140 years previously my grear great grandfather William Chalmers had attended the incident involving Norrie's cousin twice removed. It really is a small world.

Hi Norry

Serious stuff there, and a lot of delving to get the story.  You should pass it on to the Fife FHS Journal Editor  ;)  who's aye lookin' for stories!

Aye mair questions than answers in a world where the past was a different place - that cannae be revisited!

Family surnames being researched ...
Crawford, Neilson, Lindsay, Reekie, Davidson
Drummond, Laing, Pearson, Tulloch ... will do for starters but there's a whole lot more!
