Alison,

I don't know quite when I'll have time to get to the library, but I can access the original Encounter Bay BDM records if that is of any help to you.

Also there are marriages and births for some of Mahala's children if you are interested in having those.

Hi Dee,

By the dates I think you may find this is Ephram Sen. (Father of Henry Matthews Mahalia's Husband) although one mention in 1895, so perhaps even a son of this one (brother of Henry)  :-\

Buried at Victor Harbor General

In Loving Memory
of
EPHRAIM WEYMOUTH
who died Nov 30 1891
aged 81 years
also
ANN WEYMOUTH
wife of the above
who died 23 Nov 1891
aged 83 years
Colonists of 43 years

Cheers Kris  :)

The Arrival of EPHRIAM and his wife and family.

1848 per Poictiers from London via Plymouth.

Ephraim, Ann nee Matthews, Ephriam, Eliz. Jane, Henery Matthews, Ann Josepha, Poinctiers Adelaide, ( b. at sea)

I love the last name...one for the ship and one for the destination!! :D

I'm trying not to drag in red herrings here, but this man JOHN WEYMOUTH did catch my eye as being of the same name and also noteworthy in his achievments in the area.
 He arrived earlier than Ephraim
