August PFEIFFER & Rosina SCHULTZ
« on: Monday 28 June 10 22:35 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm researching the family history of August Pfeiffer who married Rosina Schultz and were most likely married in Germany before they arrived in Adelaide probably around 1845-1855.

August and Rosina Pfeiffer first settled in Adelaide and went on to have three children at Blumberg SA before making their way to the Wodonga region of Victoria around 1863 via Mt Gambier where they had three more children and then three more at Wodonga (Belvoir) after they had settled in 1868.

I have some information but there big are gaps.

Regards  Gerry

Perhaps you can tell us what you are hoping to find. Do you have the childrens births? I see there were actually 4 born in Mt Gambier 1864, twins in 1866 and 1867.

Kris,

Thanks for the fast respose and results this fills a big gap, I had searched but found nothing.

I'm a descendant of August and Rosina so I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the past family.

Louise Ottilie Pfeiffer who was born in 1858 went onto marry Henry Auhl in Wodonga in 1877 and this is my path.  Henry Auhl was the son of Heinrich Christian Auhl & Sophia Dorothea Bitter who came out to SA from Germany on the President Smidt in 1848. (I'm researching this family as well)

Children of August and Rosina PFEIFFER

The children that I have found born in SA & Vic for August & Rosina are as follows.

I had found a Henrietta Pfeiffer sometime ago and made a note saying, born Prussia 1851 still alive in 1909 with parents August Pfeiffer and mother Anna Rosena Schultz, so this all ties up well.

Louise Ottilie Pfeiffer      21st Mar 1858   Blumberg
Marie Luise Pfeiffer      16 Feb 1860   Blumberg
Pauline Louisa Pfeiffer      9 Oct 1861   Blumberg
Emilie Rosalie Pfeiffer      25 Jan 1864   Mount Gambia
Frederick Wilhelm Pfeiffer    24 Jan 1866   Mount Gambia
Gustav Adolph Pfeiffer      24 Jan 1866   Mount Gambia
Heinrich Adolph Pfeiffer      15 Jun 1867   Mount Gambia
Ledea Rosena Pfeiffer      1869      Belvoir Vic
John August Pfeiffer      1871      Vic
Anna Louisa Pfeiffer      1873      Belvoir   Vic

I do have big gaps that I hope to fill but you have helped me a great deal, thanks.

Gerry

Thanks Annie,  I'll check them out.

I did find a marriage between Anna Rosina Schulz and August Pheiffer for 1847 on the Pozan Marriage Indexing Project site which is where the came from in Prussia.

Kris,

From the information that you have provided relating to the August and Anna Rosina Pfeiffer voyage details I was able to go into the Pozan Marriage Indexing Project website and find the marriage details for August and Anna plus information on the village in Prussia.

Thanks once again.

Gerry

Kris,
Now that Henriette (henrietta) has popped up as immigrating with August and Anna I'll have to add her to the family list and do some research to find out what happened with her in SA or VIC once they moved to Wodonga.

I'm slowly getting there but a bit stuck with some of the children's history.

Regards

Gerry
