were you aware that at the marriage of Alice Louise Havard to William Lee Whatling in St Michaels ,Garston 17th May 1896 .....Thomas Havard ,  named as her father ,

Good Evening Allen,

sorry for the delay in replying.

There was a Thomas Havard senior(Father), Thomas Havard junior(son)

The burial of the father and the Christening of the son took place very close together.
I thought the son had died at an early age until recently when I was told that he was put into an orphanage at one year old then when he was ten was sent out to Canada as one of the British Home Children

Hiya Geoff - I didn`t go yesterday - it is Market day today in Garston ,so I will kill 2 birds with one stone ..market and then the churchyard...let you know later what I find ...

Hiya Geoff - I spent 80 mins searching the headstones ...no luck whatsoever for Whatling or Havard ...sorry mate ...

I have been given information about Thomas Havard and his move to Canada, being sent to Knowlton.The next piece of information I have is that he had married?and had two sons? that is as far as I have got at the moment.This information was given to me by a Canadian Cousin.

O.k. was wondering, I see now that grave stone online info has some family information added, which says the christening was 1895, not 1890....  http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=108165723
Looking further in they give the 1890 christening date to the adult Thomas as a second christening??
