Hopeman History
« on: Sunday 19 May 13 21:10 BST (UK) »
If I recall correctly from the Fiona Bruce story Hopeman expanded in the 1850's.

My father's family came from Hopeman. Not easy to research with a very common Hopeman name where everybody seems to be related to everyone else.

Unsurprisingly they were mainly fishermen.

Can anyone enlighten me on the general history of Hopeman?
