Betsey Barker/James 1822 Warrington
« on: Tuesday 09 December 14 07:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi, not really sure where to start with this one, Betsey wed Robert Bertram James 1841 Prescot, she then wed a Richard Smith 1867 Prescot ? (need this confirming). I have her 1891 with son & adopted son Thomas Stead in Castleford, it does not mention if new spouse is there, can any one confirm the marriage and possibly her death year & place please.

Thanks

Marriage took place at "Prescot Register Office or Registrar Attended".

You'll have to purchase to see any certificate info.

Good morning Rosie99 & PaulineJ, yes the post is as I have but did she wed again after R.B.James as he is Presumably Dead, he disappears and then I saw a possibility , Betsey Barker marriage to Richard Smith, ? but again I am not 100% sure, I can not find a death year/place for her either.
I will try again later.

Thanks again

If you use Lancashire BMD then marriage indexes contain maiden/previous names/ aliases.

So it's pretty likely that is was her getting hitched to Richard Smith.

Hello PaulineJ, sorry I have not been back to you (cooking) did you manage to see when & where she died ? I am on LancsOPC but some records remain illusive , I think I will try Castleford next.

Thanks again PaulineJ
