Thank you Dave for your information. I had found some newspaper records of the auction of the Rose and Crown. The notice of auction was in the Lincolnshire Chronicle for Friday 2nd Sep. 1842. He can also be found in poll books for Fleet. I found these after the initial boost t5hat I had from replies to my initial post.
