power family
« on: Saturday 10 May 14 17:50 BST (UK) »
Hi
I found this couple on the 1851 and 1861 census for England.
James power 1799 kilfinan and his wife Bridget power born 1801 kilkinny.
I was wondering if anyone had information on this couple, if they had children

Hello,

in 1851 they have a daughter, May , 14 yrs, born abt 1837, Ireland.
There is a death for a Mary Power in 1855  :-\

In 1861 they are living in the cellar of 30 Crowther Street

In 1871 there is a Bridget Power, married 60 yrs at 20 Crowther Street (several occupants). She has a daughter Mary Ralph widow 30 yrs and a granddaughter Margaret Ralph 10 yrs.

Cheshire BMD has a Margaret Ralph with mother Bowden  ??? and a marriage of Richard Ralph to Mary Bowden.

James Power 74 yrs,  married, is in the workhouse in 1871 - marked as 'Imbecile'

Perhaps not yours?

Thank you Heywood
I thought the power family in stockport could be the same family I'm looking for in London, as I can't find them on the 1851 census. They could have moved back to Ireland.
