Liskeard Burials
« on: Tuesday 17 September 13 10:19 BST (UK) »
Does anybody have access to the burial registers for the cemeteries in Liskeard for 1931 to 1935?

I've just looked at a couple of hints on a well known FH Website for my GG Grandparents John and Mary Elizabeth Seale but unfortunately, the link to the photograph on the "Find a Grave" site is no longer valid!

I'm wondering in which cemetery they were buried, John died in Jan 1931 and Mary Elizabeth in Feb 1935. I coming down to Cornwall later on this year and wouldn't mind dropping in to have a look for myself at the grave.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The Cornwall OPC for Liskeard may be able to help. Go to the Cornwall OPC website for her contact details.

Fizzy,

Thanks for the tip, I'm down from Leeds later this week I'll have a walk round if I get time, if not I'll give the OPC a call.

David

Are you sure of your dates/names?

Can't see a John Seale death in Cornwall in 1931 ,nor a Mary Elizabeth one in 1935?

Carol,

I've got both Death Certificates, John died in the Cottage Hospital in 1931 and Mary Elizabeth in Landrake in 1935.

Both were living in and around St Cleer at the time although, this is what has raised the query, a hint on A******y has the right dates with them buried in Liskeard!

David

I have finally found them, the surname for both is SEARLE not Seale!

With the correct names I will have a look tomorrow to see what I can find.

Thanks Carol,

I wouldn't mind paying them a visit next week if you find them if not, it's another eyes down walk around a cemetery!

Hi
They are both buried at St Cleer Dissenter Chapel. A transcription of the headstones can be found at
www.thedissentersgeneralchapel.co.uk. Hope this helps.
