Henry Herbert Brown(e)
« on: Tuesday 03 June 14 09:08 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find what happened to Henry, what I know is that he was born in Brightlingsea Essex England late 1913 to early 1914 son of Henry Herbert Brown(e) and Kate nee Martin. He arrives in Canada in 1921 to join his father in Winchester Ontario, in 1923 he is in Newport Vermont USA and in 1929 he is back in Morrisburg Ontario. He had 5 siblings, Gwendoline 1920-2013, Donald 1925-1997, Kathleen Mollie 1912-?, Female 1915-?, Female 1917-?. Any information on the last 3 siblings would be great aswell.
My father has been to Canada a few times and met up with Gwendoline before she passed away also her daughters 2 of who passed away in 2011. He is meeting her last daughter later this month when he is over there however she has not really been into family history so cannot help.

Did you ever contact the library for obituaries for Henry Herbert and wife Kate?

Hi cosmic

No, on someone else's suggestion I have taken a subscription out for the Toronto Star Archive, thought I would have a 3 month pass but wish I had only paid for the week now as I can't find any mention of the family. Do you know if there is a Dundalk Herald Archives that I could subscribe to or is it only held at the library?

Brown would seem such a common name to have to search. The suggestion to try and locate the obituaries for Henry and Kate would seem your best option. Considering the privacy laws in Canada you have been very fortunate to have found what you have so far and lucky to have a family contact as well.
