hi :) i'm hoping someone can help me with finding out about my ggf Thomas MORAN. All I know is what is on his death certificate. Thomas Moran born county clare Ireland abt  1833.He married in Australia to Elizabeth Hollis 1864, heaps of info on her. Thomas died 1919 in Tingha NSW Australia.

My Morans of County Clare came from Scattery Island Kilrush County Clare , they were mostly seamen, and river pilots. I have the name Thomas in my charts but he stayed on Scattery Island you could try the Clare Library site which has masses of information that could help you . Also on the site is a book written by Senan Scalan who has photographs of the Moran family on Scattery Island. My family is closely related to the Moran family through the Melican and Brennan families of Scattery.

Do you know if it states on his marriage certificate the name of his father?
