Pell family Wilden Bedfordshire
« on: Tuesday 11 May 10 10:09 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am trying to find a George Pell birth 1803 in Wilden, He married Mary (do not have surname or when they married).
I have found him in 1851 cencus but can't find him in 1841 census.
In 1851 he is a farmer of 18acres,  his daughter Mary Ann Pell married a Hills Bates in 1856 in Boston Lincolnshire. Can any one give me any ideas where to look .
Thanks Flash16

The place to look is the IGI at www.familysearch.org where you'll find his 1803 baptism.

As Mary was born in Lincs it's likely that that's where they married

Hi
If I have the correct family in Lincolnshire 1851 then I think they are at the same address in 1841.

If you are using Ancestry then search for Carline Dion aged 15 and she is with a family transcribed Nell, it is very hard to read. Another site has the family transcibed as Pell.
Best wishes

Whilst virtually all Beds baptisms and marriages pre 1813, and many post 1812, have been extracted onto the IGI, the same isn't true of Lincs. You may have to look for his marriage the old fashioned way, by going through microfims of parish registers at your nearest LDS Family History Centre

Could it be George Pell, labourer who married Mary Gray Davey at Stickney St Luke's Lincs on 29 Jan 1828 as per FreeReg marriage. Witnesses Frances Overton & William Simpson

1841 children William 1831 & Jesse 1835 are born Stickney on 1851; & were baptized there according to IGI

The IGI has the marriage at Stickney but his name is George TELL

Hi,
Here they are in 1841,  Ancestry has a clearer image.  Looks like Pell not Nell.

Hi Flash
we have a common ancestor. George Pell b 1803 in Wilden Beds was my g.g.g grandfather. My Grandpa also George Pell was born in Yorkshire in 1882. His Great Grandfather was Jesse Pell (brother of Mary Ann m Hills Bates). I have a family tree in Ancestry.uk so search for me under my user name aussietraveller. Then if you send me a request I can give you permission to view my private tree. I struck a stumbling block over the deaths of George and Mary and have now paid to have some research done for that. Our family (Joseph Pell, son of Jesse) emigrated to Australia in 1886. hope to hear from you soon regards aussietraveller
