Place Name
« on: Wednesday 09 July 14 00:25 BST (UK) »
I have found a News Paper death notice for my great grandfather, (died 1919) which states he was born in Mullmahone, County Tipperary. Can anyone tell me about this place? I am wondering if it might be a misspelling.

Put Mull in the search box and set it to At Beginning of Field and Tipperary as County on this site http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/
And I think Mullinahone is the most likely, I'd say the m is in fact a in on the death notice.

Thank you for that quick reply, Sinann. There is a "m" there. That does not mean a mistake wasn,t made by the person who put the notice in the paper (probably one of his daughters) or the newspaper itself. Are you able to tell me anything about the place?
 Thank you again.

Hi Marg and Sinann,

There is also this local site which looks interesting http://www.mullinahone.net.
I like to read parish newsletters - gives a feel of the place and there is a small genealogy message section also.  :)
