Devon 1841 and 1871 census records are available at British Origins for an annual subscription.  I have found them to be very useful.  ;D
BURROW, BICKHAM, EVANS, SULLEY, STONE - Devon
STEPHENS, MALLET, ADAMS - Cornwall
HANCOCK , BUSSON - Somerset
MCCALLUM, MCDIARMID, MCNEILL - Argyle, Scotland
WALLS, SUTHERLAND, SIMPSON - Orkney, Scotland
FAIRBAIRN - Fife, Scotland
THOMPSON - Aberdeen, Scotland

British Orisgins, Family History Online and The Genealogist are all sites worth using in addition to Ancestry and Family Search. Despite seeing many complaints about their charges and errors, I have found masses of information which I wouldn't be able to access at all, living in a very remote area. In addition, many of the County Family History Societies do a stalwart job.
However, the baptism records are limited and I think Thor was looking for a maiden name, place of birth and birthdate of her Elizabeth, before 1841, so it is a bit of a problem ???

Hi Thor
I had a look and it's definitely Ashull or Ashill, which is North Devon. The Parish, I mentioned on and earlier message.  St Austell is quite a way from Pymouth and definitely in Cornwall. There were Clay mines there - the tips have now mostly been cleared up. It is one of the poorest areas in the country.

Hi Thor
A final thought  on the subject  :-\
Have you tried any Cheshire lists - they may have access to Church/Chapel records for baptisms. I did have a quick look at the Cheshire BMD site which is thorough, but nothing really came up with the offsprings names.
Also Cheshire CC do have an amazing collection of online records.

There is a marriage of a John Galley in A/M/J quarter of 1838 (ref 19 157) in Northwich. Is that Cheshire? I dont know if it is the right registration district  for your area.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

census information is Crown Copyright from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
