Hi Everyone,

Can anyone please tell me if there  was a newspaper local to Watford in 1928 ?

I am trying to find an announcement of a marriage between James Pascoe and Blodwen Evans.

And where is there an archive if any and also if there is an online resource ?

Thanks in advance  for any help

Hi

James Pascoe / Blodwen Evans ( take care, looks like possible mistranscription as Evens )
Watford 1928 Q3 3a 2626

You mean "Online Newspaper Archive" because you seem to have all the info in your online family tree?
WatfordObserver.co.uk (DCrozier@) is the local paper/Archivist
Select "Nostalgia" from the menu on the website.

Hello Ray,

Thank you for your help it is much appreciated. I am constantly amazed at the help I get from all those people generous enough to spare their time helping me with my research.
You are correct both myself and my cousin have quite a lot of information on who was our great Aunt and Uncle. The problem  is we have is in establishing a valid background for James Pascoe. There is a possible candidate here in Wales but we are short on solid source citations to back up the assumption. The reason for the question was  to see if we could garner any info from a possible guest list at the wedding which may have been reported.
Thanks once again for your help
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike

If you have their marriage certificate, who were their fathers and witnesses?

You may get lucky with them pointing a way?

Hello Ray,
We do not have the certificate I'm afraid , it looks like we'll have to pay for a copy.
Regards and Thanks
Mike
p.s. I took your advice and emailed David Crozier to ask if there was an announcement in the paper , I am awaiting a response
