origins of parkinson family in queens co. (laois) from 1600's?

i would like to know where i could find information from 1600's/1700's about parkinson family
and how they arrived in mountrath area of ireland.  i can trace them fron c. 1800 but now need to go further back if possible. thanks

     Reading the book  "Castlecomer Connections" by Tom Lyng  (pages 287,288)  came across this which may be of interest.
    Wandesford imported a workforce of 600 Yorkshire men who could carry out projects in housing, farming, forestry, mining, manufacture, hunting and church promotion.  The following names of Yorkshire tenants of Idough are found in Wandesford documents:  Davies, Marley, Parkinson, Wallis, Preston, Bradshaw, Lamley, Paine and Hudson.
