Catholic Burials in Staveley
« on: Sunday 20 April 14 16:53 BST (UK) »
I have several relatives who lived in Marsden Moor (Hague Lane) nr Staveley.
Martin and Elizabeth Fahey died in 1886 and 1919 respectively. Denis and Sabina Fahey died in 1955 and 1953. Can anyone suggest where they could be buried? They were all Irish Catholics which could rule out the parish churches.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Would suggest the cemetery at Staveley which opened in 1884.

Derbyshire Record Office, Matlock hold the burial records for this cemetery 1884 - 1997.

Darren

We who live around here know it as Mastin Moor near Staveley.

There are a number of FAHEY burials in Eckington Cemetery.

Thanks for all the information.
Is Mastin Moor the cemetery on Inkersall Road? Some of the Faheys lived on Mastin Moor as well as Hague Lane.
Just checked Eckington Records -  there are a couple of "my" Faheys there plus other likely ones. There are also a couple of Mullins there - relatives of the Faheys.
Thanks again for the info.

Darryl

Darren.

The cemetery on Inkersall Road is Staveley cemetery.

Mastin Moor does not have a cemetery
