Oh dear me! Thank you Sarra for putting me on the right lines.

I have just looked at the message again - and you are right -- there were 2 examples!

What a plonker I am!

So, I took the plunge and have gotten a months subscription.

While YES, the new search engine is more restrictive that their old model it can still be played around with to get the hits that you want.

Yesterday alone (Day 1) I downloaded 13 transcripts of records for my tree.

Hi Tara

I've also taken up a month subscription and am busy identifying documents I want.  When you say you 'downloaded' records, can you advise how you did this as the site only gives me the option to print.

Also, I've used the site before and thought that you could access all your record purchases for 24 months?  Has that option disappeared now as I have no archive purchases.

thanks, Kit

Hi Kit

Sorry, I should have phrased that better.

When I got the records that I wanted I 'print screened' it and then save it to my hard drive.

Later then when I had the time, I changed them all into a jpeg format and saved all those on my hard drive to a memory stick.

In rootsireland main screen ~

If you go into 'my account' (tab on left of screen)

Then into 'old transactions' you will see all your old purchases.

My one month's subscription is up BUT I've noticed that it is saying that I would need a new subscription to view them

NOW I'm lucky in that I had already 'print screen' & saved these to my hard drive BUT it SHOULD still let me into those that I bought during their previous system.

HUM as I say doesn't affect me but I'm sure it will affect others.

Tara
