Trying to find a County connection to surname Cappick
« on: Saturday 04 October 14 01:11 BST (UK) »
My great great grandmother, Mary Cappick (also Cappock,Kappock,Keappock,Kappick variations) married a John Duffy in ireland, marriage unknown. They had their first three children in Ireland, Thomas born 1862, Mary born 1863 and then Michael born 1866, they moved to Liverpool in Lancashire and had a further 3 children, John, Peter and my grt grandmother, Jane. I am trying to pinpoint which county Mary came from, when she married John and who Mary's parents were. Any help would be appreciated. Cary  :)

Any chance that she was Catherine Mary or Mary Catherine?

A John Duffy married a Catherine Keappock in 1861, County Meath.

http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/surname/index.cfm?fuseaction=Go.&UserID=

This link shows distribution of Keappock surname at time of Griffiths Valuation (1850s Approx)

Just enter surname in "surname" box and press "Go"    This is a "pay" site but this information is free.

Hi, I have only ever found her on records in Liverpool after 1871 and she is listed as Mary only. Thank you for making the effort to reply.

any chance of a mix up in names

Hi, thanks for responding, I can't see a link to either options, her name was definitely Mary and they had their first child in 1862, Thomas Duffy. Thank you, Cary  :)
