Hi,
I've been watching this post, hoping someone else will reply.

It appears no-one else has noticed your post that has an interest / connection.

I haven't replied sooner because my information on the McBeath family predates 1830s/40s and I have no definite link to the people you mention.

However, they do all come from the Caithness area, mostly Wick.

Briefly, I have:
James McB bc1740 m Jean Sinclair
>
Elizabeth McB bc 21 Sep 1759 / Isabella bc 24 April 1862 / John McB bc 19 Oct 1766

It is possible your people descended from John bc1766 or a brother / cousin I don't have details of yet.

I have other information relating to the McBeaths that I haven't 'analysed' yet.
This is a line that I have only started looking into - James McBeath and Jean Sinclair will be my 5 x great grandparents.

I can't give you anything concrete (yet) but wanted to acknowledge your post.  Hopefully we can find a connection.

I'm in contact with another researcher with a similar interest but at the moment, I'm waiting on details of sources - a few things I've been told, I cannot confirm myself.

I have other family lines I'm working on at the moment so it may be a while before I can concentrate on the McBeaths properly.

As I say, this is just an acknowledgement at this point, but I will get back in touch as and when I get more information.

Dave

Hello,
This is a long shot, but I've been researching Macbeaths/McBeaths/McBeaths/Mcbeths etc and have discovered an Alexander McBeth born circa 1783 in Caithness or Sutherland who was aboard HMS Victory at Trafalgar, 1805.  In 1805 the Victory crew list shows him as aged 22, a volunteer who joined from the Clyde.  I'm not certain if he is my ancestor but it is intruiging nevertheless.

Best regards
