Baptism Records for Co.Down?
« on: Wednesday 25 June 14 14:55 BST (UK) »
I'm not sure if I am in right forum for this.

I am looking for my Great-Grandmother's baptism, she wasn't born until 1902 so she isn't on the 1901 census, but she is on the 1911 one. She's 9 on it. So I went looking for where her parents would have been in 1901. My GG-Grandfather was a pensioner from the army in 1911, so I correleated that information with 1901 and found that he was up in Co. Down as a Lance Corporal. I'm just wondering now that my G-Grandmother was most likely born up in Down and baptised there. They were living in Holywood at that time. So my question is: Is there any sites that I could search for the baptism? It would have to have been a Catholic Church.

Thanks!

Her name is Brigid/Bridget Farrell she was born on 27th July 1902. That's all the information I have on her besides her marriage.

Details of her civil birth registration should be available to purchase via:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk/

As you have an exact birth date, use this along with surname and first three letters of forename.

Does the 1911 indicate that she was born in County Down?

It this is your James Farrell on the census, I have found his army records on Ancestry.  Here is the first
James Farrell
Gender:   Male
Birth Date:   abt 1868
Birth Place:   St Nicholas, Dublin
Age:   32
Document Year:   1900
Regimental Number:   845
Regiment Name:   10th Roy- Res Bn
Form Title:   Short Service Attestation

Other Records:    Search for 'James Farrell' in other WWI collections
Family Members:
Name   Relation to Soldier
James Farrell   Self (Head)
Margaret   Wife
Mary   Children

Patrick must have died as it says in 1911 census that he had five children, only three living in 1911
