   Another Neilston lad in need of some care please

   Pte Daniel Barr   S/2376 Gordon Highlanders 8th Batt- Daniel was Killed In Action 1915 Oct 13th at Ypres France age only 18 years, He was Born 1897 in Neilston  and enlisted Barrhead            Commemorated on  Barrhead Memorial & Neilston Church memorial   The Son of James & Elizabeth Barr 93 main street Neilston:   Listed as Neilston soldier BHN 1916 death notices of local soldiers: Also Barrhead news Oct 19th 1917 has a Poem insert by his sister and  Brother in law Mr &Mrs Wm O`Neil 92 main street Neilston 1911 census living at West Arthurlie, Neilston, age 14. Parents James & Elizabeth .
Daniel  was employed by Messer's Doulton Paisley in the moulding dept prior to war: Evening times 0ct 1917 28th-He  Enlisted in Aug 1914 and proceed to France with his regiment nine moths later . Killed by a Shell in his trench on Wednesday 13th Oct 1915- he resided Darnley Rd Barrhead;Daniel went thought the big push at Loos, He is Remembered with Honour Memorial Menin Gate Belgium panel 38.

I gave it a go for you....I was at "The Last Post " ceremony last week at the Menin Gate whilst doing the Battlefields of the Ypres Salient ....Pleased to be able to give something back to these brave young men.
