Costello/Costeller - Dromahair
« on: Friday 18 January 13 16:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

I'm looking for any info relating to the parents and birth of my 4x Great Grandmother Catherine Costello (sometimes written as Costeller) who seems to have been from Dromahair (born c.1806). I realise it is early, but does anyone please know if there are birth parish records going back this far for this area? I don't know denomination I'm afraid. If not, does anyone know of any other sources which may help to trace her or the Costello family in the area?
Many thanks for any help, Lucy

1809 is too early for RC (1859) or CofI (1827) baptism records for Drumahaire/Drumahare (civil parish Drumlease).
Remember to check the Resource boards :  Ireland, Dublin, Antrim & Cork (and stickies at the top of other county sub-forums)

Hello,

as  Shane says, yes it is  too early.  http://leitrim.rootsireland.ie/generic.php?filename=sources.tpl&selectedMenu=sources

I gave you some pointers on the Mayo board which still stand for Leitrim re tracing ancestors in Ireland.

best wishes

heywood
