Parish Registers - Fenden

Hello,
Can anyone help me find an ancestor:
Francis Fenden born 1776 in Ayrshire, occupation at one point Mariner.

I am looking for any details or records in Ayrshire during or prior to his birthdate of parents or relations.

There is a Francis Fenden death in Poplar, London in 1859, but it gives neither gender nor age.

Thanks.  I should have posted more details about my request.
I'm looking for Francis Fenden's parents or any details from the Ayrshire area.  I have traced him forward to myself but can't get any details further back.

Where does the information that he was born in Ayrshire come from

Unfortunately Ayrshire is one of the poorer areas for pre Civil Registration Documents or Records due to their failure to survive or in some cases that they were never taken in the first place.

The Ayrshire Burials Index does not contain anyone named Fenden and strangely checking Scotlands People throws up zero instances of the surname indicating that it is not an overly "Scottish" surname (or is one that has been misspelled beyond recognition)

Might have been misspelled.   I have traced him via ancestry.com with marriage and census documents.
