Hi Jane,
If the offer is still open I wonder if you could check and see if you have either a Robert Bryce or a Janet Bryce.  They were married in 1782 in Whitburn and had 5 children, 4 of which were also born in Whitburn, so I am assuming that they lived all their life there and hope they are also buired there.  I really don't know when they died but their youngest child was born in 1803.
Many Thanks
Elaine

Hi Elaine

Cannot find them in Whitburn. What was Janet's maiden name. There is a chance that she may be there under her maiden name.

Regards
Jean

Hi Jean,
Janet's maiden name was Thornton.

The previous generation was also in Whitburn so do you have a William Bryce born abt  1738 or his wife Helen Bryce(maiden name Brown or Broom).
In fact this particular Bryce family seem to be in Whitburn from abt 1738 right up to 1873, so any Bryce death during this time may be connected to the family

Best regards
Elaine

Hi Jane,

Thank you for your offer.
I'm looking for a George McLean, he was in 1841 census age 50, I can't find him in 1851 census, so assume he died between those years.
At the time of the 1841 census he was living in Blackburn, Livingstone.
Regards
Liz

Much appreciated
