Hello

I will keep my fingers crossed on the longevity front!

Thank you for all this information.  I know Annie was born in County Wicklow around 1852, William Colles Moore, Clergyman is indeed on her marriage certificate (and as you say he would still appear as her parent even though deceased).   At the time of Annie's marriage in Dublin 1874 she is living with her brother William N C Moore in Eglington Terrace (I believe that is the address on the certificate of marriage) and the census records for 1911 back this up.  Thank you for your help in enlarging my family tree.  I have considered a trip to Ireland at some point in the future to look at the parish records.  It would seem that for some reason Annie unlike her two brothers was born in a neighbouring County.  Also did her parents marry in 1834 or 1840 that is quite a big gap before William Nassau is born in 1850 but perhaps they had other children before that

Michele

The book I have says that the marriage licence was granted in 1834. I don't know at this stage whether they had more children than I have mentioned in my mail. If i find anymore information I will let you know.

I have just come across another William Colles Moore reference  on the DublinHeritage.ie - obviously not the same man but it would be odd if there is no connection.

Surname: Moore
First Name: William Colles
Address: Saint Matthew's Church
  Irishtown Road
  Dublin 4

Description: Lectern
Inscription: To the glory of God and in memory of William Colles Moore who for more than 40 years a devoted worker in this parish entered into rest Sunday April 25th. 1915. "Teach me O Lord the way of your statutes".
Location: Church
Reference No. BA11

Kind regards
Jean

thank you Jean, yes I would have thought this must be a relative, possibly William Nassau Colles Moore who would have been Annie's brother, she was living with him and his family in Dublin in 1874 when she married, I also found him in the 1911 census living with his wife and son in Dublin.  Most grateful for everything you have found to date

Hi There,

My parents bought No 7 Herbert Road in 1955 and set up what is now called Sandymount Hotel. The hotel now comprises 8 interconnecting Victorian houses 3 - 17 (Odd Numbers). In the census of 1911 William Colles Moore lived in No. 5 Herbert Road.

Hello everyone on this thread, which I have read with great interest. According to family tradition one of my Boyce ancestors was The Lord Mayor if Dublin. This can only be Joseph Boyce, who was The Lord Mayor in 1855. He had a brother John Tandy Boyce, who is the same one mentioned in this thread. I was not aware he had a daughter Mary Jane Boyce. Can you give me more info on Mary ?
Thanks so much
Dave Pratt

John Dowsey married Elizabeth Tandy Boyce in 1854. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Tandy Boyce. On the peerage website, Mary Jane Boyce is listed as marrying a William Colles Moore, but her father is William, not John, Boyce.
Thanks
