My grandfather Charles Power born 1908 a Wexford man left Ireland
Leaving his wife and two daughters 1948 to work in Birmingham England.
He was never heard from again, where did he go? I do not think he returned to Ireland but l can not find him in England.
I have been looking at passages list to American.
A long shot l know but found Charles Power travelling to New York 1956'.
Could this be my grandfather! The eventual address is Newcastle Ave Chicago does this connect with any Rootchaters.

The Ellis Island website shows he was Irish but does not show any age for him.

Perhaps 2 possibilities :-

If you had an exact date of birth for your Charles, it would be possible to check it against the SSDI (Social Security Death Index) in the USA.

If you get a copy of the birth cert, it will show actual date of birth. The UK Death Index after 1969 shows birth dates.
