Hollyhead Help Please
« on: Wednesday 06 September 06 22:51 BST (UK) »
Been trying for some time to trace my wifes Grandmother and Great Grandparents, getting nowhere so now need help, here is what I know;

Irene May Hollyhead, thought to have been born in Plymouth 23 September 1922, died February 1998 Gloucester.
She married or at least had several children with Frank Edward (Stanley) Rodway born 1891, trouble is  I cannot find a birth certificate for Irene or a marriage certificate for Frank Edward Rodway and Irene Hollyhead, Their first child was born in the early 1940S in Gloucester. the family settled in Gloucester where the Rodways were from.

Irene had a brother Kenneth Roy Hollyhead born plymouth 1927, he was killed/died 22 May 1946 serving with the RAF in Egypt.

Irene's parents are known to have been called William and Winifred, but the name Winifred may not be her birth name as it is thought within the family that she was called Willamina, William is thought to of had some connection with the Navy and that may be the reason why he was living in Plymouth and may not have been his place of birth, cannot find a marriage certificate that fits William and Willamina, please help if you can.

Many thanks for your help (both of you) with this new information I have now traced Kenneth Roy Hollyhead, he is also registered in E Stonehouse with mothers maiden name Harris, so think this proves what casalguidi found with reference to Irene, once again thank you. Now to find a Hollyhead-Harris marriage. :P

I've been looking for marriages, and the only william (T) hollyhead I found was dec qtr 1918 Madeley (Shrops)?

ref 6a page 1415 spouse May Price.

The birth cert(s) may throw up some more info, so keep that marraige on the back burner.

Hello, this has been a long time since your post so I hope it gets to you.
I believe my son is the youngest grandson of Irene Hollyhead. If you have any information on the Hollyhead family I would be grateful, thanks.
