Hi,

Did you have any luck in finding the marriage register entry for Michael and Bridget as this would give their definite fathers' names?  I did a quick search but couldn't find it.

Ballybailie is in Ardee, Co. Louth and there is a baptism record in Ardee, Co. Louth in 1842 which could be for your Michael. The parents were Mich. and Kitty White.  The copy of this RC baptism which would have the mother's maiden name and exact dates is in the NLI National Library in Dublin on microfilm P5601, or in PRONI in Belfast microfilm 1D/52.

I hope this is of some help.  Good luck with your research.

Thanks for you help.  Bridget's last name may have been Powers.  I found one site with the family leg that had her as Powers.  It appears that Michael died and she remarried.

I am not sure how to access the microfilm records.  Can you advise me?  Also, I will be posting soon for my Craven relatives that immigrated to Virginia in the 1800's.  I noticed Craven associated with your name.

Thanks

Sandy

Can you confirm that the dates you are looking for are 2nd December 1842 to 10th January 1895?
I.E. standard dates of DD-MM-YYYY?

Or are you using American dating of MM-DD-YYYY?

It's best to use month names!
Then we all know what we are talking about! ;D

I know this is not what you asked about, but just in case it is relevant, PRONI has the will of Patrick Roe of Ballybailie who died on 17 March 1916:

Yes. I am using American dates.  February 12, 1842 and October 1, 1895.  I am sure now that Bridget's maiden name was Powers.
