Military Look up - Francis Paton bc 1884 Greenock

Hi could anyone spare a moment to look up any army records for the following:

    FRANCIS PATON
    British Army Service Records
    Born c1884
    Greenock

Over 60% of WW1 service records were burnt in the WW2 blitz.  Of those surviving, there is no trace of one for this man

There are 2 MRI entries - one in Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) number   S/20368

The other Army Service Corps   R4/062982

Yours is more likely to be the first entry and he was awarded the British & Victory medals

The only Francis Paton born in the area (Port Glasgow, Greenock or Gourock), appears to be in Port Glasgow in 1885.
FYI, in case you are not familiar with the area, the three towns are joined to each other.
