Ann Malliers, b. abt 1774 and William Horn(e), b. abt 1775
« on: Wednesday 30 July 14 11:12 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have Ann Malliers marrying a William Horne on 17 Oct 1796 in North Littleton.  Then four children being baptised to the couple (Mary 1797, Hannah 1799, Zillah 1804 and William 1809), all in North Littleton.  Then there's a death of an Ann Horne in North Littleton in 1810 with a year of birth of 1774; and a death of a William Horne, also in North Littleton in 1845, with a year of birth of 1775.
William is on the 1841 census for North Littleton and it says that he was born in County.

What I haven't been able to do is to track either Ann or William back a further generation, and wondered if anyone could help me, please?

They are my 4xg.grandparents, so would love to find out more about them, if possible.

All help gratefully received.
Thanks
STG

Hi There
I think I can help I've got some info on William Horne.

William Horn christened North and Midlle Littleton 6.8.1775 to John and Ann Horn on familysearch
Also sister Hannah 30.4.1769.
The couple married at South Littleton 7.11.1768  John Horne of N Littleton and Ann Ingles of South
(Possible baptism for Anne Ingles  at Bretforton to Samuel and Anne 27.9.1743)

John christened back at North and Middlle Littleton to Francis and Hannah Horn 23.9.1739 Familysearch
Siblings Francis 1.5.1741 N &M and William 24.5.1751 Middle Littleton
Francis and Hannah Furneval married there 3.10.1768.He was from N &M and she from South Littleton.
Francis baptised 1..6.1712 N &M Littleton to William and Ann Horn
Other children William 17.11.1702 ,Mary 27.12.1704,Sarah and Thomas  11.9.1709 and Ralph 29.10.1717.

Marriages from Archive.org and Baptisms of Familysearch.

I'm afraid I've not done so well on Ann.
There is a John Mealen and Ann Dyke married by licence 9.10.1764 at North and M Littleton who may just be her parents but no sign of a christening.

That's brill, Ciderdrinker. Thank you sooooo much! :)

I did try FS, but I find it a bit hit and miss, and this time I obviously missed, but you were a big hit! :(

I'm a bit bemused by the surname Malliers.  Doesn't sound quite right somehow (for deepest, darkest Worcestershire), and am wondering if it's a mis-transcription of something more common - although I can't really quite think what it could be.

Think I might see if anyone would do me a look-up of the original PR (well, the microfilm, anyway) to see if they can make anything else out of it, unless someone happens along into this thread in the next couple of days who has the NL PRs on disc and they can chip in with a suggestion.

Thanks again.

I see now that Malliers is the FS transcription of the name, but Mallins is what's in Archive.org.  I've tried Mallins, Mallin, Mullin, Mullins etc in Archive.org, but not getting anything.  :(

I suppose it's possible, Tom, but it would be lovely to find something a bit nearer home.  Worcester itself is really quite a way away from the part of Worcestershire that they were living in.  Will just have to keep looking.

Thanks again
