Hi Liz:

This could be the death of John L Payne - Birmingham, Warwickshire - 1938 -  Jun quarter - 6D - 539. Age at death is 68 which would be right for a birthdate of 1870.

This might be Lillie Beatrice Richards - Birmingham, Warwickshire - 1978 - Jun quarter - 32 - 1366. The date of birth is listed as September 30, 1881.

Thank you once again.
Yes sami that is the death of John Lovel Payne, I have found his probate.
I am not sure about the death of Samuel C payne in 1919, Elizabeth calls herself married in all the census but Margaret's will refers to her as a widow.

Thank you .
Elizabeth calls herself married in 1911, and looking at the writing it looks as if she filled it out. I am wondering if Samuel was possibly hiding from debtors. I found him in 1882 mentioned in a dissolution of a partnership. It was by mutual agreement and the other two partners were carrying on the business and would be responsible for all debts,
I had not found that death for Elizabeth, but it looks promising.

It would be interesting to see his occupation on Lillie Beatrice and Frederick's birth certificates.
I also think that the death is a possibility - the name and age.

Unsure if more information is still needed on this thread, but by chance noticed the names Lillie Beatrice Richards (who was my grandmother, and whom I lived with at her home in Harborne until her death on May 27th 1978) and her husband Frederick Charles Richards (who was already deceased when I was born).
