« on: Thursday 23 October 14 00:36 BST (UK) »
HI all ive got another brick wall.... my fourth great grandmother was sarah amos baptised 11 aug 1811 in eydon to Edward amos a labourer and sarah unknown maiden name who was born in gawcott buckinghamshire 1782.

Edward and sarah amos had following children

1809 esther at gawcott

following at eydon

1811 sarah
1813 jane
1815 john
1817 Susannah
1818 Hannah
1820 William MAUCHER amos? is that unusal german middle name any clue?
1826 phoebe
and lastly phyllis in 1829

Edward was in brackely workhouse in 1841 with daughter phoebe, sarah lived until 1861 and born 1851 and 61 census state birth as gawcott both indicate 1782, I cannot find marriage for pre 1811 for a Edward amos and sarah, theres a baptism for a sarah biggs in Buckingham in 1782 to john and Hannah? would gawcott baptisms at that time be in Buckingham?

no baptism for Edward amos born 1773 ish he died 1844, and whats the maucher middle name about for their son William?

please help its so frustrating being stuck here

Maucher is possibly a misspelling of Malsher a name found in the area. Though I see he married as William Marcher Amos

thanks for that I will look for more clues with that name too, can I just add ive found a baptism for a esther amos daughter of Edward and sarah in GAWCOTT in 1809 the place her mother sarah was born, so know I know they must of married pre  1809 not 1811 so that narrows down 2 years! :)

Unfortunately, I have to advise that there's no sign of Edward and Sarah's marriage on the Northamptonshire Marriage Index (1700-1837).

Also, Gawcott is not included on the IGI (except baptisms post-1806) or FreeREG.

It looks as if you may have to repost your query on the Buckinghamshire board in the hope that someone may have access to Gawcott records.
