Find a grave in Oban Scotland
« on: Monday 02 November 09 21:04 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find the graves of my Great Grandfather and Mother who both died in Oban. They were David Mackintosh (died 1891) and Emma Mackintosh (died 1889). They attended the St. Columba's Parish Church which no longer exists and did not have it's own Cemetary. Checks done by the local library have failed to find them in the Old Parish graveyard and the Penyfuir Cemetary. Argyll Council say they don't keep records back that far. Help!!!! Has anybody got any ideas that might help me??

dolphinphil, you might get more help if you put this post on the Argyllshire Board.  If you haven't used the board before there are some grave and inscription links.
A local person viewing the Argyllshire Board may be able to give some advice.
Good Luck

Thanks Kathb,
As you can tell, I'm new to Rootschat so I'm not to familiar with how to do things. Thanks for your tip, I will try that.
Regards, Phil.

Hi Garry/keeney30,

We're travelling to Oban in late September, and my partner is wondering if her grandparents are buried in Pennyfuir.

If you have a chance would you please be able to look up Tom and Molly (Mary?) McGregor. Both killed in a vehicle accident in the early 1940's.

Thanks so much in advance,
Aaron
