Helen

Spotted these in the Hasting Directories

1839 Pigots Directory.
WILLSHER David, Linen Draper (& Woolen) of 32 High Street, Hastings

(The 1832 Pigots Directory shows Matthew KELLAND as at No 32) - this gives a good indication of when they moved to High Street; which must be between 1832 and 39; but they are not listed in the 1836/7 Registered Electors list, but KELLAND is at Number 32 High Street - so it must now be between 1837 and 1839.

Hope you followed that

Hi Chris

Many thanks for your last to replies. :D :D

Just to clarify that  the census for David and Charlotte WILLSHER is for 1841.

It is interesting that a Clara Petit aged 2 is with them.
I think that in 1860 she married David's Nephew John Noakes WILLSHER and in June 1839 a Joseph Petitt/e was a witness to David and Charlotte WILLSHER (Nee HART) wedding.

Just out of interest were there any other WILLSHERs in the Hastings area. I am missing a John, Elizabeth and George.

Many thanks to you I am slowly putting the tree together.

Hi Helen

I am happy to be able to help you.

Yes, it was the 1841 census

No, there are no more WILSHER surnames listed in or around Hastings in 1841
