Lookup request - info on Elizabeth Morris marriage to Maurice Blower

Welcome to Rootschat.Looking again at my own Family Tree it would appear that I have a sister to Maurice in my own Tree,a Margaret Blower born in Cefn Mawr in 1858.This Margaret married my relative Samuel Griffiths at Rhosymedre Parish Church Denbighshire in 1880.The marriage record at Rhosymedre gives Margaret's father as a John Blower(Collier).

The 1871 Census at Cefn Mawr gives the following;
Jane Blower(Widow),born c 1825.
Frances(Daughter),born c 1846.
Thomas(Son),born c 1852.
William(Son),born c 1854.
"Morris"(Son),born c 1855.
Margaret(Daughter)born c 1859.
Robert(Son),born c 1862.

All are given as born in Cefn Mawr,from where I write this!

Do you by chance have a digital copy of the marriage record (Margaret Blower=Samuel Griffiths, 1880)?

Also, I have come across multiple records showing Samuel/Margaret residing in both Wales and in Pennsylvania.  (Maybe I've been combing over too many records b/c it's all starting to look the same.  LOL   )  Any clarity in your tree?

Do you by chance have Samuel's place of birth and parent's names?

As far as the marriage of Margaret Blower and Samuel Griffiths,it took place at the St John Parish Church of Rhosymedre Denbighshire on the 9th of February 1880.The Rhosymedre Parish(Marriages) Booklet which I have,transcribed by Clwyd Family History Society,gives their fathers as a William Griffiths(Tailor) and a John Blower(Collier).Both Samuel and Margaret are given as 22 years old,Samuel being listed also as a Collier.

Samuel was the son of a William Griffiths(Tailor) born in c 1834 in Ruabon Denbighshire and a Sarah Davies who was born in Llangollen Denbighshire in 1835.William and Sarah were married at Ruabon St Mary,Parish Church Denbighshire in 1856.Samuel was born in St Martins Shropshire in 1858.

To give you some idea of the distances here,Rhosymedre is about two miles from Ruabon.Llangollen is about five miles from Rhosymedre.St Martins just over the border in Shropshire is about seven miles from Rhosymedre.

Cefn Mawr where I write this is the adjoining village to Rhosymedre.

One of my own personal difficulties in looking for further possible info of Samuel and Margaret Griffiths in USA is the loss of the 1890 Census.

The two children showing for Samuel and Margaret Griffiths in the 1881 Census were a Sarah J Griffiths born c 1880 and a John B Griffiths born in 1881.Both children showing as born in Rhosymedre.

(I feel like an idiot.  I just realized that when you said both John and Samuel were "colliers," that you were referring to their profession.  Oops! )

I found records indicating that the following settled in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania:

Thomas Blower, 7/1851 - immigrated 1876/1877 (married Esther Ponting, 1882, PA)
William Blower, 12/1854 - immigrated 1886 (married Ann, Annie Powel, 11/15/1880 at Pontfadog, Denbighshire)
Maurice, Morris Blower, 3/8/1855 - immigrated 1885 (married Catherine Roberts, 1893, Wales); deceased 3/7/1930 at Mountain Top, PA

Still trying to determine, definitively, if Margaret & Samuel also immigrated to the US. 

I also have Beckman's on my father's side of the family.  Most of the records in Kansas are locked tight, though.

I found some possible entries for the Margaret Griffiths who is possibly widowed by 1900 but as the children born in Wales are possibly married by then its a bit difficult.I'm also still waiting for an answer to someone with a Tree on Ancestry which gives a possible death date for Margaret of 1936.
