Ishmael Jones bapt,

I am looking for a baptism for Ishmael Jones, bc 1800, or so,  Ruabon/ Ponciau area. Sister is Jane Jones bc 1798. I am hoping to find the baptism/s of these two, with the same parents. There may also be a sister Mariah bc 1796, Ruabon. I need to prove/disprove these three are siblings.

Hoping someone can help knock down this stubborn brick wall.

I've had a quick look at my parish records and my non-conformist records but so far I haven't found a baptism for an Ishmael (vars) around that date.

Do you have a marriage and census info for him that might give clues?

Well, I am not sure if the Rev Ishmael Jones, living with sister Mariah on 1851, HO107, piece 2503, folio 345 p15 is the one I am looking for. Ishmael was a witness to his sister Jane's marriage.

He was an independant preacher. If not him, I am still looking for his bapt and sister Jane's, presumably the same parents.

Can you give details of Jane's marriage?

She married 27/12/1825, Wrexham, license, to William Roberts.

Just checked my details again, they married Ruabon, she was of Wrexham, sorry for the mistake.

My booklet shows that they married in Ruabon.  Jane is given as of the parish of Wrexham  and William of Ruabon.

Do you have the marriage license details - at National Library. It might giver her father's name.

Ishmael is shown as a widower on the 1851 - I'll have a mosey to see if I can find a marriage for him.

PS - Harriet Hughes was other witness - wonder if he married her

I did wonder if he did marry Harriet, but haven't been able to find anything.
