« on: Friday 16 August 13 14:55 BST (UK) »
Hi I am unable to find my gg grandmother Lucy Hanrahan nee Mcmahon on the 1901 census, I found her death on Family search as 1903 Limerick, I have searched all counties etc also the England census as her daughter , my g grandmother left Ireland in 1891 approx, her husband Charles and daughter died in the 1870's. Any help would be great Thanks Pat

Can you give us an idea of when Lucy was born? (i.e. what age would you expect her to be in 1901)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Just another bit of information, her husband Charles was a river pilot, they lived in Windmill st, I have noticed that there are alot of Hanrahans on the census, with the men being pilots and also a lucy Hanrahan aged 6 but spelt lucey. I believe they are related in some way but can't make the connection.Lucys husband Charles died 1878 when he was 70, he was alot older than her !! thanks for any help Pat

Wouldn't be terribly surprised if little Lucy Hanrahan is a grand-daughter (her father's name is Charles).
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Limerick/Limerick_No__4_Urban/South_Circular_Road/630442
Transcribed as 'Hannaghan' but the scanned image of the page clearly shows the surname as Hanrahan.

did you purchase her death certificate for her address in 1903 also informant at death might be a family member which might help locate her through looking  for a family member. i tried the initial system to see if she may be in a hospital or institution but nothing showed up, but then again even with the initial system there are mistranscriptions.
