O'More, David, born around 1600-1630
« on: Wednesday 23 October 13 10:20 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I'm looking for David O'More of County Laois who was probably born around 1600-1630. He is said (according to Lodge's Peerage) to have been "of Portallen" but I have found no such locality in Southern Ireland let alone in County Laois. In any case, he left issue at least one daughter, Margaret O'More, who married Walter Tuite of Tuitestown (who was killed in the Williamite wars along with 11 of his sons and was attainted in 1691). Their surviving sons were Richard and Robert; both emigrated to the West Indies to settle as planters.

Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated.

Researching:

IRELAND: Tuite, Dunn/O'Duinn, Wells, Daly/Ó Dalaigh, Blake, Lynch, FitzGerald, O'More, Aylmer
SCOTLAND: Brown/Broun of Colstoun, Howet, Heriott
ENGLAND: Howard, Wells, Appleby, Pattridge

As well as West Indian, French, and Danish families.

Perhaps 'Port Allen' is Portarlington in Queen's Co. (Laois).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
