Birth in Framlingham area
« on: Sunday 07 September 14 19:07 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for the birth of Daniel Button according to the census and his death he was born in 1776 in Framlingham.

I have all the census for him and his burial which was on 4 March 1873 at the age of 97 in Framlingham.
He married in 1806 to Jemima French both were single.

I have been unable to find his parents.

Any help greatly appreciated

Found these on the Suffolk Marriage Index - married pre 1776 so could be potential parents.  Perhaps someone can check Fram PRs for you.

Daniel Button married Elizabeth Farrow 2 July 1770 Framlingham St Michael.
Robert Button married Sarah Susan Minter 22 Dec 1773  Framlingham   "
Also
Ezekial Button (Wdr of Framlingham ) married Sarah Hayward 4 Jun 1788 Dennington St Mary - cant see who his first wife was but that first marriage could potentially have been pre 1766.

Thanks Keziah2
Wondering if Daniel & Elizabeth are strong contenders due to the name but then Daniel jnr did have a son who he called Minter so Robert & Susan could also be in with a chance!

Hopefully someone might be able to find Daniel 1776 birth :)

The use of the name Minter certainly sounds like a link.  In case it comes up trumps I also found these 2 burials in Framlingham
Robert Button 23 April 1816 age 70
Susan Button, wife of Robert,  15 Jan 1802 & you are right it is Susan not Sarah as I quoted - sorry.

I checked the Framlingham parish records (they are transcribed and indexed) but couldn't see a baptism there for Daniel Button.

Elizabeth d/o Daniel and Elizabeth Button baptised at Framlingham 23rd Sept 1770

Although I haven't been back to my tree since September as we had to upgrade our computer and now I can't open my family tree online package so have had to purchase another.

I did wonder if perhaps as there was a Jemima Button (not mine remarrying) who married a Daniel Minter Damant after Minter Button's birth that perhaps he was their child. Not that this has much to do with my Daniel Button but if the Minter connection wasn't with him then Daniel's parents are more likely to be Daniel & Elizabeth.

Or have I just confused everyone more!!

I have a Daniel Button who married a Mary Cooper in Grundsburgh in 1797 and after she died he married an Elizabeth Pratt of Newbourne in Waldringfield. I believe he had two daughters, Sarah Cooper Button and Mary Button by his first marriage and he lived in Waldringfield during the 1830's. He was publican at the Bush Inn, Waldringfield in 1841 aged 70 and I think he died in 1843.
Am interested to know if this links in with anyone's else's Buttons?

Hi Videlo
Although I have a few Daniels, I haven't come across any that are married to your ladies or the daughters names.
