Not exactly what you were looking for but certainly located in Dumfriesshire and includes some of your family names. Both graveyards are not far from the Hutton and Corrie Parish graveyard. These two burials may relate to your wider research.

The following two MIs are from surveys made in the 1950s -- booklets are available from www.dgfhs.org.uk

Location:   Applegarth & Sibbaldbie Churchyard, Dumfriesshire
In Memory of
James PORTEOUS, son of James PORTEOUS, joiner in St. Anns, Parish of Johnstone, who died 12th April 1802 aged 6
years
Also John PORTEOUS, his son, who died 19th July 1803 aged 2 years
Also James PORTEOUS, his son, who died 12th May 1827 aged 15 years
Also Catherine HOLLIDAY, spouse to the said James PORTEOUS, and mother of the said children, who died February
16th 1830 aged 56 years
Also James PORTEOUS, husband of Catherine HOLLIDAY, and father of the other deceased who names are recorded
above, who died at St. Anns Bridge on the 8th of April 1840 aged 75 years

Location:   St Mungo's Churchyard,  Dumfriesshire
Thomas HOLLIDAY, who died at Mirehead 1st December 1804 age 77 years
Also Margaret PORTEOUS, his spouse, who died November 11th 1819 age 73 years
Also John and Walter, their children
Also Sir Andrew HOLLIDAY, who died 6th September 1839 age 58 years, M.D.
Also of their grandson, James YOUNG
And Jean, his daughter, who died at Mainshill 22nd March 1834 age 4 years
Also Thomas HALLIDAY, Assistant Staff Surgeon, his son, who died at Jamaica February 1844 age 27 years
Also Janet, his daughter, who died at Lockerbie 31st October 1851 age 24 years

Hi, I don`t think there is any connection but thanks for replying.I was a bit puzzled by the Mungo Johnstone  reference, then it dawned on me .The name  mentioned by the previous post is acually St MUNGO, jOHNSTONE,DUMFRIESHIRE, a town. No worries ! Someone might see your post and contact you. I am not that experienced myself and have made a few faux pas.But I have found folks on this site are very helpful. In fact someone from Australia saw a post I put out a short time ago, and helped me solve a puzzle I had been trying to solve for two years. So good luck in your research.  EP
