I don't think Ann will be able to add much from the MI books but here is an entry from the burial records of Cambusnethan churchyard & cemetery.

THOMAS SMELLIE, farmer, Castlehill Orchard, aged 75 years, married.
Parents - Robert Smellie & Fanny Fleming.
Buried in the old burial ground at Kirkhill on 20th November 1865.

I don't know the name of this Thomas' wife, so I am unable to search for her or any children they may have had.
Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.

Hello Ann

Thank you so much for the kind offer to look up MI's in your area. My family originated in govan, Blantyre and Cambusthenan and I know a limited amount about them but to know their dates of death and places of rest would be wonderful.
The family was the Russells - Archibald Russell and his wife Jean who died around 1872. I have photos of his son's grave, also Archibald but not sure which cemetary it's in. He was Russell of auchinraith who, apparently owned coal mines.
If you have any Russell connected to the above I would be more than grateful. I have enclosed a list pof possible names.
Jean Sharp (1860's-1870's) Jean and Isabella, 2 wives of the first Archibald, Fanny, Magdalene and Cecilia.
Children of the second Archibald: Janet, James Smart and his wife Helen, Jane, Thomas Patterson Miller and his wife Frances, and Christina.
I do hope I haven't burdened you with too much - if I have please don't hesitate to say.
Kind Regards

AJ

I would be interested in any other members of Craig family for Blantyre esp. a Robert Craig 1826 and perhaps his wife Mary Hamilton - later date.

Also any earlier CRAIGS - + William 1879 ...

Thank you so much

Yes - please to any other Craig burials -

'Mine' were mainly of Belsfield or Auchinreath - James (1758-1834) and his wife Betty Alexander

Robert Craig (1788 -1826) and his wife, Mary Hamilton (after 1841)

Any Craig burials are great because they're all related.
Thank you

I too am looking for Craig family burials -of Birdfield, or Auchinreath or Bellsfiend

Still hoping for a Blantyre lookup for Robert CRAIG about 26 May 1826.

Also for his wife, Mary HAMILTON - anytime after that.

The Craig family should also be there - William for 1879; Archibald and Alexander after 1879; Peter (or Patrick) about 1876 and James between 1872-76.

Their parents James Craig and Elizabeth (Beatrix/Betty) Alexander should be there too. I think James is an 1851 death. or 1831

Thanks for any help.

Other Craig's - I am interested in any other Craig's or Hamiltons or Alexanders listed for High Blantyre.

According to the Glasgow Herald Robert Craig who died in May 1826 was to be buried in HB. But I haven't found any record of his burial.

Thank you for any help

I'm fairly new to Rootschat.....so only happened on this Topic today.

I recently visited Dalserf Church & graveyard. My maiden name is Frame, so I went to take lots of photos of the headstones in search of any Frames.

If anyone wants me to post any of the photos.....let me know.
