howdy ;-) back on the trail of more Gordons after a wee break due to work commitments . I have been getting certs via SP . Have found that the 4 Gordon brothers , Alexander married twice  and William died single aged 24 and cant find any trace of a James . My great grandad married twice and have all that data down the line . Have there sister  Elizabeth marrying a Joseph Kerr also . Im interested in Alexanders line as he had 3 kids to Jane Watt , John Watt Gordon , Mary Napier Gordon and William Watt Gordon before she died in 1898 . For some reason im thinking they ended up in America or Canada as On Ancestry im seeing a perfect birth date for John W enlisting in Canadian army in 1915 and have Wilma ( Alexanders new wife from 1889 in Glasgow) William and a George in New York ? states boys born in Glasgow . Just cant quite connect them to my great grandas brother . Anyone else any fresh angles to try , no ones mentioned any American link to the Gordon name , cheers , Raymie .

As we spoke about this thread the other night, I just checked to make sure my Gordons are not the same as yours. Sadly no joy.

Just when i thought i had all my Grandas sisters and brother , i have found another sister . Mary Gordon born 1912 at 168 Garngadhill . Father John Gordon and mother Margaret Smith ms McMaster . Wife of Daniel Smith (Mason ) who has not lived with the family since 1908 . I knew from 1911 census there was a woman and 2 kids living with my great grandad John . Cant find a marriage for them either. But John does remarry Jessie Campbell in 1927.
Mary goes on to marry James McEwen in 1930 in Hutchesontown and on her cert it has her mother as Margaret Gordon .
Also got Jane Gordon marrying Hugh McDonald in Portobello in 1920 . :)

According to SP Mary McEwen ms Gordon died in 1978 aged 66. The death was registered at Martha St Glasgow.

Also, if you search SP looking for deaths of people with a surname McEwen and whose mothers surname is Gordon you get Margaret Semple McEwen (Margaret Semple was James McEwen's mothers maiden name) with another name "Morton" who died in Irvine in 2002 aged 71.

There is a marriage record for John Wilson R Morton to Margaret Semple McEwen in Pollok Glasgow in 1948.

There is a death record for John Wilson Ren Morton aged 66 in Irvine in 1987 so it looks like they moved from Glasgow to Irvine.

Cheers Davieboy , have found a grandaughter of Mary Gordon 1912 . Swapped a few emails and she can remember being given a Rangers scarf by my Grandad John . Will fill her in on the Gordon side and tactfully explain i cant find a marriage of  her grandparents John Gordon 1866-1934 ( remarried 1927 jessie Campbell )and Margaret Smith ( Ms McMaster ) 1871-1941 ( death in Lennoxtown Castle)but they were living together in 1911 census in Garngadhill St Glasgow followed by Marys birth in 1912.
