Hi Monica,
               I went for the marriage on SP of Alexander and Mary McCaw yes it is the right family

William his father is a mason deceased mother Janet Smith.

Now to look for William's death .

Now have both marriage and deaths for William and John how tragic Janet outlived both of them .
 
Now just William to find can't find a death for him on SP he seems to vanish after 1871 census .

Wonder if he perhaps emigrated.

Jessie, does seem a big possibility that William left after 1871. Did try having a little look around elsewhere but there seems to be a lot of William Coulters about and hard to know for some of the possibilities how to follow up further.

Hi Monica,
               Yes they  were from Cairnryan in Wigtownshire to Ballantrae then right up Ayrshire coast
to Dunure now I've found them in Lanarkshire .
It makes it more difficult not having an exact birth date.
