Hi there,
sorry if this is not related to your forum although I have an ancestor called Margaret Burns who was born around 1820 and married a Patrick McDonnell. They had a son called John born around 1861. I think both Margaret and Patrick were both born in Cork.

Just thought there maybe a connection ?

Thanks

Tabitha :)

Hi Tabitha
Unfortunately I have no other information about William Burn's family. I would have to see a marriage certificate for him to a Mary, or a marriage certificate for their daughter Margaret Mary Burns (who was born in Scotland) to Albert Hillier in 1875. I would love to know more about his family. As I live in New Zealand I can only research through the internet. Hope you find out more about your Margaret Burns.
Regards
Ann
