Hi i am looking to find a baptism of harriet cox but not getting any joy
to see who her parents were any help would be appreciated.

Does she marry and name a father on her marriage cert?

Do you mean she was born in Abingdon itself -- or the Registration District of Abingdon?

There is a Harriett Cox baptised 7 June 1843 at Stanford in the Vale, Berkshire. Parents are George Cox and Anne.

I don't know the local geography -- so I am not sure whether this might be your Harriet or not.

Hi Keith,
In Abingdon St.Helen registers (transcripts) there is a;

Harriet Charlotte Cox  -   bapt..  31-7-1846   (d/o William & Martha Ann),  Hawker, abode Ock Street.
She was baptised the same day as her brother Edward.

Thanks for that wonderful information i can see story now
i can see the story now james morris married sarah town in 1858
she died 1862 he then married harriet cox in 1868 but harriet was
born a barratt so i am looking for baptism of barrett not cox
that will still be hard as the variation in census of harriets age is 16 years in one and
nine in another but i will try thanks again trish.
